Cambridge Contemporary Art 

'A Fine Line'

Cambridge Contemporary Art is a locally run independent gallery in the centre of Cambridge surrounded by beautiful University colleges. CCA has an excellent reputation, visitors come from all around the world to see a wide selection of work by some of the top ceramicists in the UK.

The title 'A Fine Line' highlights the unique use of line in each ceramic artist's work. The exhibition will showcase some of the best in contemporary studio ceramics made in Britain today.

Co-curated by CCA and the ceramicist Katarina Klug.

Made London - Canary Wharf

MADE LONDON – CANARY WHARF is a new event bringing some of the best contemporary designer makers in the country to the heart of Canary Wharf.
There will be two shows – 17-20 and 22-25 March. Each will present around 60 makers and change completely for the second show.

Hey Clay! at Committee of Taste

Jo Davies Ceramics Exhibition 7-14 April

plus Talk and Workshops 7-9 April

In conjunction with the Crafts Council’s Hey Clay! event, the Committee of Taste will welcome back Jo Davies to the Stables, Gladstone Park. 

Hey Clay! is a national celebration of clay with events nationwide throughout 7-9 April and Committee of Taste will host an exhibition of Jo Davies’ ceramics with the opportunity to view and purchase her unique range of porcelain vessels, tableware and lighting. Jo Davies' exhibition will run until the 14 April, but throughout Hey Clay! (7-9 April) there will be events and workshops.  This exhibition, workshops and activities will also offer you the opportunity to see, hear and feel firsthand what it’s like to be a ceramicist. Gain insights through Jo Davies’ talk, work and workshop as well as taking part in the have-a-go-pottery event run by the Stable’s resident potter, Isatu Hyde.

Exhibition Opening 6-8pm at Committee of Taste 

Jo Davies will be at the Stables Café to launch our Hey Clay! exhibition and events. A wonderful opportunity to meet the ceramicist herself and pick up some beautiful pieces. Light refreshments will be available to purchase. Free event, all welcome.

Saturday 8th April  

An informal talk by Jo Davies. 12.00pm - 12.30pm. 

A wonderful opportunity to find out more about her practice and inspirations. Jo will also talk about getting into a creative/ceramics career and will be happy to take questions from budding creatives on this subject.

Saturday 8th April 

Creative Porcelain workshop lead by Jo Davies. 3pm - 5pm. 

Participants will create functional and non-functional artwork by imprinting textures, plants and objects into porcelain clay creating embossed images onto the surface of your own unique objects - from plates to platters to 'clay canvases', make art you can hang on the wall or even eat from! This workshop will provide a wonderful opportunity for participants of all abilities to get creative under the guidance of Jo. No prior experience necessary.

Sunday 9th April

Taster wheel-throwing sessions led by, Isatu Hyde, the Committee of Taste’s wonderful Potter in Residence. 10am - 3pm. 

Attendees will get the opportunity to have a go at throwing a pot on a potter’s wheel under the brilliant guidance of Isatu. 

Isatu will have her studio open to the public throughout Hey Clay! 

Free event. How to Book Each session will be 20 - 30 minutes long.
