An Introduction to Throwing with Porcelain

14-15 July 2018

Sat 10-5  Sun 10-4pm

This weekend workshop will be a guided tour of throwing with porcelain for people who may not have worked with this material before but are curious about how to work with this amazing clay. This two day course will give you an insight into the problems that come up when throwing with this beautiful but temperamental material and how to mitigate them. We will also discuss how to harness the best qualities of porcelain through some simple exercises in throwing and turning.

Jo Davies teaches all the porcelain classes at the studio. She is a highly experienced tutor who has taught at all levels - using the expertise gained in her professional practice she is able to give you an insight into the process as well as an insight into her own methods of working.

All classes have a maximum of 4 students

What's included:

All materials

All tools and equipment are provided

Firing and glazing are included but you may want to glaze your work yourself so just let Jo know on the day.

Things to consider ahead of the day:

You may want to bring an apron
