Intermediate Courses

Our Intermediate courses, as with all our teaching, specialise in wheel-throwing and are for people who would like to deepen their knowledge in a supportive atmosphere. We welcome everyone at our studio, all we ask is that for the intermediate classes our students have done some wheel-throwing before - this can either be with us or elsewhere. However, we’re not prescriptive about how much experience you have, our only concern is that we help you to improve and achieve the goals you have in mind. Below lists the dates and details for our Intermediate Courses but if you would like to take an Improvers Mini Course instead then do look at that page of this website for information about focused sessions troubleshooting specific areas of wheel-throwing.

10 Week Intermediate Wheel-Throwing Course

10 sessions, 4 spaces, Intermediate Level, £650 inclusive of all materials, equipment, firings and tuition.

Thursdays from 26 September 2024, 9:30am-12:30pm

Half Term Thursday 31 October

This class is for students to undertake projects on a self-directed basis with the continuous help of the experienced senior tutor. Consult with the tutor in order to create your own projects and troubleshoot issues with your throwing through dedicated time each week for supported practice. The Jo Davies Teaching Studio has small classes that give you time with your tutor as well as opportunities for considered peer group learning. The intermediate classes have a maximum of 4 students per class so there is companionship but also a quiet space in which to learn.

Course Fee Includes: all tuition, stoneware clay and firings. All tools and equipment are provided at the studio and there are no further fees to pay during any of our courses. You are welcome to bring your own tools if you have them.

Extra practice between each taught session and/or after the course ends? Book our untaught Freewheel Sessions on Sunday mornings and Thursday afternoons for £47 inclusive of clay and firings.
