‘My recent study of lidded vessels has led me to consider again the way we own objects and some of the deep meaning we attribute to them, the responsibility they have in holding our emotion and even in storing physical relics. I developed the Curl Vessel as a new approach to lidded containers which has led me to create an installation of these vessels, each one with a unique shape and scale representing a unique human figure.

My installation of 7 lidded vessels ‘A Place to Keep our Ghosts’ was originally part of Wells Art Contemporary in October 2025, displayed on the Unknown Tomb at Wells Cathedral. Each urn is a focal point for an individual loss and a commentary on the importance of urns, which allow us to keep our ghosts close to us for as long as we still need them.’ -Jo Davies

Items are securely packaged for transit but, in the rare event of a breakage, the item will be replaced. In this event customers need to notify the studio with images of breakage within 24 hours of arrival to secure replacement item.
