Handmade, wheel-thrown porcelain round vase with abstract surface decoration in cobalt blue and 24-carat goldleaf gilding, and a single fluted opening. Each is a unique contemporary ceramic vase with surface variation from one to another.
The Blue and Gold Speak Vases balance simplicity with surprise; the smooth handcrafted perfection of the surface punctuated by a dramatic hit of cobalt-blue and 24ct goldleaf. The cobalt is allowed to splash onto the surface and trace a path around the form, while the gold leaf is carefully positioned to enhance the depth of the blue achieved in firing. Each vase is necessarily one-of-a-kind, as the process of creating the work is so subjective.
Glazed with tactile, satin-matt white crackle glaze with cobalt.
Position of the gild: on the body of the vase - variable
Due to the nature of the hand-decoration on this piece, the pattern of the cobalt and the position of the gilding will vary.

Care Instructions:
Handwash only using soft cloths. Please do not use abrasive chemicals on this surface. Gilded items can be used carefully but the 24ct goldleaf surface is delicate. The gilded element of their surface has been stabilised and protected by shellac but care should be taken in its use.

Items are securely packaged for transit but, in the rare event of a breakage, the item will be replaced. In this event customers need to notify the studio with images of breakage within 24 hours of arrival to secure replacement item.
